This a test to see if I figured out the photo thing.

It worked! So, this is the amp from my VM 162 speaker that matches the VM 557 potable record player. Now that I know how to do the photos, there will be more to the story.

Bill,
I restored a 557 several years ago.
Besides weighing a ton for a tabletop,
it sounded amazing.

I have also had a late 1950's V-M powered speaker
with the single 6V6 and power tranny.
It had 2 x 8 inch woofers and a crossover tweeter.

Also amazing sound.

Elton, the grille is cool and it is heavy. Not something you want to move often.

Mogul, you said had? Does that mean the amp/speaker is gone? Do you remember the model number? I'm trying to figure out what amp and speakers are in the different VM amp/speaker units.

Very nice, Bill! The only thing I own by VM is my old tape recorder. They get a lot of sound out of a 6X9 speaker. I'm really impressed with VM and the build quality they had. Right up there with Magnavox from what I've seen. I hadn't seen much of their stuff until you started scoring a few.
