For some reason, the west coast thinks vintage electronics is worth a fortune. There is a guy in California that has stuff listed all the time at outrages prices. The ad are on eBay for just a short time and then they are gone. I guess he must be selling, and getting his prices, as his stuff does not last long.
Some insane prices for fairly ordinary $100 - 200 consoles are being asked by certain nuts on eBay also... 1500, 2000, 3000! A few of them have been "upgraded" to use Bluetooth, or restored, but still. Some are actually making brand new MCM style consoles with modern electronics, also for crazy prices. What astounds me even more is that some idiots must be actually buying them!
A portable record player similar to the one posted typically sells for $25-75 around here, I see that type all the time.
Roger, stuff around me goes for pretty cheap as well. Once in a while there is someone out there that thinks what they have is worth tons of money. It usually sits on Craig's list for month after month without every selling. I guess they really do not want to part with it.

I have noticed that, Gary, but I still do not believe the legs add that much value. I do not do Facebook, for a multiple reasons, but I think I would like the Market Place. Although, it would probably get me into trouble with everything I would want to buy.
I have heard that part of the reason radio prices are high on the West coast is because the supply is not as good as demand. There are more radios back east, which depresses prices back there.
Life can be tough. It can be even tougher if you're stupid.....
mine is a model 1296 with the AM radio from 1958... interested? I put legs on mine from menards ... mainly because I have no table space to set it on..I can send you a picture ...It seems that if you mention bluetooth on a console the value goes up in the eyes of the millenials and gen-xers.... if they only knew the modules are like a buck apiece on wish... I bought a dozen wireless modules just in case someone wants bluetooth added... once you figure out a power supply and wire it up to the AUX or TAPE it is a hour job... maybe...
