I hope you are all okay. Life has kinda gotten in the way of projects and posting on the forum for me. Summer is here with its activities that take us outdoors. It has been a little slow on the forum the last few days.

As summer approaches, there are lots of spring projects and then summer outdoor activity. You'll note that most of my posts have veered off into car & boat territory. I had a b'day Monday and now I am closer to 100 than to 50. I celebrated by driving the Chevy to a new transmission shop. The owner was swamped with work because his two techs were out so he was doing everything. He said he had an old friend who specialized in Powerglides, and he would get him involved. Yay! But it will take a couple weeks to get un-swamped. Boo! Now back at work, where the other two lawyers are resigning. One is going to do his old job in Maine remotely, and the other needs to make more $$$ because they have two pre-school aged kids and the day care cost was more than they can afford on present salaries. I have vowed that I am NOT going to up my work load this summer; not my problem. Summer in Michigan is way too precious to spend it all working. Especially when you are closer to 100....

I'm glad to know you guys are still around. I see lots of members who log on daily, but we don't see much from them sometimes. I miss you guys when I don't hear from you regularly, (like every day!

) I seem to get attached to the members on this forum. We are lucky we have the good group we have. Now might be a good time to remember those who aren't around anymore. Our friend Ed who passed away a few years back. I ran across a page I printed when Vintage was still going. All five Vintage members posting on that page are no longer active anywhere that I have seen. The header image was before that dresser that was on the latest Vintage index page was posted. I printed the page because the man I got my Stereo Theater from posted it for sale on that page. I got the Stereo Theater in 2017.

I'm here, just way too busy to enjoy much of anything right now. And yes, Chris, summer is too short in Michigan not to be outside enjoying every bit of it. I'm hoping once June is done things will slow down and I will have time for some fun.

Our Michigan summer would improve if the wind stopped blowing from the N. Big blow Sat. so I could not sail in Bay City, where N and NE winds blow all the way from Canada and the waves roll in. Sunday, same thing. Monday I tried again--no wind. I actually got the boat on the Bay and the sails up and managed to move along at about 1 mph. But I had to get back in for my birthday dinner so I turned back and dropped the sails. The wind immediately picked up. Tuesday here in Traverse City it was from the N again but i rowed out to the boat to have a look-see. A bit bumpy out there, so I just puttered. Today, blowing harder from the N, again. I'll be happy when our prevailing westerlies start to prevail again.
That probably won't happen until the Canadian wildfires are extinguished and the western areas start burning. We had lots of smoke on Sat., less on Sun., a bit more on Monday, and it's hazy here today.

Hi everyone, I'm one of those that log in just about everyday, but don't post much. The house is full and I haven't taken in anything new (have to get rid of some of this first). I do enjoy reading about all of the others projects and other hobbies. I went to the Northland Antique Radio Club Radio Daze and picked up two radios, a GE Superadio II and a Zenith Transoceanic 3000-1. I don't mind getting rid of the other stuff but I really don't want to deal with the crazies out there but the stuff isn't going to walk out of the house by themselves.
Happy hobbies everyone.
Steve

Happy belated birthday, Chris. I hope you had fun at your birthday party and whoever was cooking made your favorites. Personally, I do not have birthdays anymore.

I revived this old topic. I know we are all in the "dog days" of summer. It's hotter than the hubs of you-know-where here, with highs around 115-120 for the last two weeks. We are setting heat records all over AZ, even in the high country. We had "an haboob" yesterday, high winds and blowing dust. We couldn't see across the street for a time. All our rugs got blown up against the house and there is a half inch of dust in the window ledges and on the screens. After monsoon season, it will be "pressure washer" season, followed by "window washing" season. You have to get rid of the grit and dirt, or it will permeate the house, and we all know what THAT means. The furnace filters will look like they came out of a machine shop after about a month in service. We'll need to change the air filters in the vehicles, we always do that after monsoon season when the dust is over.
I've been tinkering with the new features on the forum and I hope you will all take a moment to check them out. I still need to finish orienting the Gallery. I trust that will be a feature you will all enjoy. We need to reach out to our members who we haven't heard from in awhile, inviting them to join us and to check out the new look and features of the forum.
I hope this finds you all well and that you will join us soon. About all we need now for the forum to grow is participation. That is totally up to you. You guys are the forum. All I can do is to provide the platform for the forum. I appreciate your participation and your patience during the construction period.

Yard chores have taken over for the time being as stated earlier ... In Michigan we don't get that much time to do stuff outside

I've replaced the passenger rear CV axle and the front brakes on the explorer. The driver's side CV axle and the rear brake pads will follow. I await new tires from the wholesale club whenever they arrive. I need some fertilizer for the bank account.
