AT-6/AT-60.

We have a couple Fishers on our FB marketplace... a statesman unit with the weird cabinet that juts out in the center ... they want 500 bucks , been up there for a couple months , another about 5 mins away is a Diplomat a smaller unit they are asking 125 and I am surprised no one has snapped that one up , both look to be in excellent condition... If I had room.... sigh

All of those little Fishers shown are good looking and restrained in design. Between the Provincials, French & Italian, the Italians come out way ahead. The electronics appear to fall into the nothing-special category, but we have all heard devices that sound better than they should. Maybe there's a lesson here about the specifications wars.

The 29/290T chassis iirc were all-in-one tuner/preamp/amp units, SE 6BQ5, often with Bugle Boy/Amperex output tubes and a number of Telefunken 12ax7s in the preamp, though Fisher did start using some US sourced 12a_7 tubes around 1963. But as always with Fisher the circuit designs were excellent and the resulting sound and tuner sensitivity was also, though lower powered.

The furniture designs were usually nice but like many others certain styles started to get goopy later in the '60s with gaudy mediterranean influences creeping in, even red speaker cloth and Flamenco-like frilly speaker grilles.
