How much do you love your pets?

My veterinarian certainly loves me after the surgery they did ... not that I am complaining, I would do it for any member of the family ... but I think their business model is do as many tests they can think of without finding a problem... then actually performing a simple ultrasound and instantly finding a problem ... but I guess you can't make lots of $$$$$ by a $150 ultrasound alone .... but Buddy is doing fine now that the blockage was removed... then after they lightened my wallet , they tried to get me to sign up for pet insurance ... that is about a good as aftermarket warranties for cars... oops pre-existing problem not covered... or that breed is prone to this malady... not covered .... nothing but a scam... Ok rant over

Our rescue mutt, we rescued him from a ditch in Missouri, but gave him a grand name, Bentley, is currently enjoying a $125 hair cut and coif for Easter celebrations. I don't get that much spent on my appearance in a year. Of course, there's not much help for making me look any better, but everybody thinks Bentley is precious, adoration which he laps up like mother's milk....... ;) :o

And, after we literally ran the wheels off his "buggy" an old golf cart I bought at an auction, we had to restore said buggy in its entirety so he can have his buggy rides around the community. He insists on driving....

Elton, I'm sorry to hear Buddy was sick, he is a great member of the family with not a mean bone in his whole body. I remember meeting him as he came out to meet me and without knowing his name, I called him Buddy. It was like we were best friends by me calling him by name. and then you told me his name was Buddy, go figure I got it right the first time. ;) :) I'm glad he is ok.

And Greg, Mr. Bentley is a great dog too and has always treated me with respect when I'm out in AZ and visiting you. Dogs are just people with 4 legs. :D

Oh no, dogs are much happier than people.

Dogs sniff first, bark later. People would get along better if they followed suite..... ;)

Agree 100 % ... Only dogs can be abused terribly by man and still forgive them and return love... show me any human that can do that...

Dogs are definitely outstanding animals, but I know a few people who have dog like traits and can forgive after being abused.

I can't argue with that one bit!

We now have 6 rescue cats and there is a story behind every one of them! :D

We have two rescue cats. One joined me one day when I was working on my lawn tractor. He was about three weeks old and had been dumped in a ditch behind the garage. He is now 14 years old and weighs 18 pounds. And he hogs my recliner....

The other one was found in the engine of a Ford Focus. She was wedged between the exhaust and the plastic pan under the engine. She had a pretty bad burn on her side, but the only remnants are six white hairs in her black. She's a tuxedo cat. And, she's a sweetheart. The cats and the dog curl up in a ball when they are cold, but God help you if you get in their way when they are eating. We found the dog in a side ditch in Missouri. The vet said he was about an hour away from being frozen to death. He had frostbite on three of his pads, but outgrew that condition. He is 13 now, probably one of the best dogs we ever have had. All we have had, except three Golden Retrievers are rescue animals. They never forget that we rescued them. They have an insight that "purchased' animals don't have. Bentley has had zero training, other than our female Golden potty trained him. He just knows what's expected of him.
