Fresh grapefruit for breakfast..

Yum, yum. The grapefruit on our tree are smaller this year, with thicker skins that normal. This, expected, is due to the trauma the tree endured during construction of the shop. The irrigation system got hacked when they ran the power to the shop. So the tree only got irregular manual watering. And it missed one round of fertilizer. When citrus trees face trauma, they protect themselves. Fortunately, this one didn't shed its blooms and we did get fruit. They still taste good as they always do. The ones we have are the old-fashioned white grapefruit with seeds. Then I'll add a chorizzo fratatta and some cowboy coffee. :D :D

Sounds good. I haven't had a grapefruit in about 40 years.

If shipping wasn't so blamed high, I'd send you a box of grapefruit. It might be cheaper to send YOU a plane ticket to AZ and you could pick your own...... ;)

Haven't had a good pomplemousse in years. I remember when they were BIG. now they're pathetic yellow oranges...

Until gin and I had a "falling out", I always said the best gin & tonic tasted like grapefruit juice.

Our grapefruit, cut in half, typically will cover a saucer. This year, not so. Maybe three quarters of their normal size with thicker skins. Citrus is heat tolerant, but they still require water and care. We neglected ours due to the construction. They should return to normal size next year.

I'm a grapefruit lover. Problem is, one of my medications is incompatible with it and it is technically forbidden. Sometimes I say ""deleted" with it" and eat some anyway.
