The 848 was offered in 1963 and sold for $229.95 according to Gary's site. I see the woofer was made by Carbonneau. Just about every speaker I look at in a VM product was made by them. Somewhere I read that in VM's TOTL models they used Jensen.

Decent to middling console with a totally nutty price... I have 2 sibs in NC, Lumberton is, let's say, an economically-challenged area, since a lot of the furniture makers left 20 yrs ago...1/10 of that price would be about right.

I would agree, Roger. It's a nice-looking unit and probably sounds good too. Maybe $99.00 would be a better price.

You just never know, about 4-5 yrs ago I got an upper-line 1961-ish VoM 2 piece tube console, FP style, in mr mint condition for $60. It'd been on CL for $150 but after being listed at that price for several weeks he took my first offer when I showed up in person waving cash. It was playing FM when I got there so I cleaned it up and passed it to an acquaintance with a good home for the same price. Same with the Moto in the picture --- >bought for $35 and sold for $40 after working OK w/o a restoration..
