....and I'm listening to Christmas music! We have most of our CD changers and CD's in storage. We have one 300 disc Sony changer connected to the Symphony. There are 265 regular CD's on there and 35 Christmas CD's. It's kinda neat listening to Christmas music in August.

Boy, did this topic ever lay an egg.....
I got the kitchen painted. And I started back on regular CD's.

I don't drink egg nog in August or wear shorts in January. And I've never been tempted to pull out the Christmas music when it's hot. Just doesn't seem right.

Aren't there people up your way who jump into Lake Michigan in January wearing just their skivvies?

They jump in Lake Champlain in January for charity... it's called the Penguin Plunge. They're nuts imo.
It was 91 here yesterday, but the 90 percent humidity makes it feel like 110, a body just can't cool off when it's like this. You get totally soaked in 5 minutes with any kind of exertion. Yesterday I sanded and put poly on the all the front porch rails and had to come in immediately after for a shower. We're so thankful for the a/c on days like this for the end of the day. Thankfully it's supposed to cool off on Friday night, only 78 on Saturday is predicted. Normally we'd be spending time on the boat under the Bimini top but it's sitting in our driveway waiting for # 1 son to finish putting in the water pump. I really need to re-hab the little Vanguard sailboat that's been sitting in our backyard for at least 10 years, no water pumps needed there! It got free in a storm and needs gel-coat work and general refurbishing, I never seem to find the time. Our 12' aluminum rowboat needs a new transom, yet another project in waiting.

Remember the bell-shaped curve: there are crazies everywhere. Tonight as I rowed my dinghy back to shore after sailing, a woman was wading in to go swimming. Me, it takes 15 min. to work up the nerve to immerse my shoulders. She just strode right in. Bravo for her.electra225 wrote: ↑Thu Aug 12, 2021 1:30 pm Aren't there people up your way who jump into Lake Michigan in January wearing just their skivvies?![]()
Let's add that I can perform the first half of the Eskimo roll in my kayak. That means upside-down. First time I did it was in March when the water was 38 degrees or so, maybe colder. It was not a matter of choice. Luckily I was wearing a wetsuit and I survived. But I had to hitchhike mack to my truck. Let's just say that only curious drivers stop for a guy in a wet wetsuit in March in Michigan. They were probably thinking, "bell-shaped curve, crazies, gotta figure out this guy's story." 2nd time, also in March, icebreaking with the kayak. Slow learner.

I have two Sony 300-disc changers, an RCA 300-disc, and a JVC 200 disc. Random doesn't work well on the 300 disc machines because the discs are so close. I start at #1 then play in order. The Tractors Christmas album sounds as nice in August as it does in season....
