Ugly all right. But because it was misused. It's like seeing some vintage car destroyed for a movie scene... I always wonder if there weren't some way to avoid destroying a cool device.

Exactly what were they trying to sell by doing that to a console??? Whatever it is,nobody needs it and certainly shouldn't spend $$$ on it.

Isn't there enough ugly in the world?

I don't think I want to know what the commercial was about.

I've been looking for this since this thread started. My contribution to the ugly console thread. This was available locally.

Wow, that is bad. The paint makes it look plastic.

I'm pretty sure that under that paint is more plastic... looks like "Mediterranean" to me, and that usually means plastic and/or fake wood. But still, I'd rather see cringe-worthy original Mediterranean than garish painted Mediterranean.

It'd look better if they painted the inside of the medallions with the hot pink on the other one...

At least they left the insides intact! It could always be made more tasteful by a restrained repaint, new speaker cloth, and a top...

Every designer had to be trippin' through the '70s. And people hate French Provincial? What category is this... MODERNSTROSITY?

I cannot imagine anybody looking at that and thinking "Oh, that looks great!" Unless they had altered their consciousness.

Still like to search for consoles and still see a fair amount of ugly consoles. I usually hesitate posting, as my Pilot resembles this thread title.

Couldn't resist today. Nothing says 'buy me", in an ad, like a picture of painted console in a pick up bed. Perhaps they could include delivery, since it's already loaded.

It could be worse; it could be purple. Six knob Astro-Sonic with the tone arm missing. I'm not feeling the love!

The white console in a pickup bed could actually be saved and leave it white. Put some gold grille cloth and trim on it. It's not Kem-Tone blue, thank goodness....
