I guess, Gary says this was the standard setup for this changer... I guess GE didn't want to spring for a bearing on their changers... :)

GE may have gotten cheap when they spec'd those changers. Mine has an o-ring holding the platter on instead of the typical Jesus clip. This model, warts and all, is still my favorite changer. Clunky and crude with what the audio guys say is massive tone arm weight, they will change 45's better than most jukeboxes. ;) :roll:

I changed the cart for a p-226 I had lying around, the original astasic 171 was fried , but the tracking weight is nuts... almost 8 grams!...Greg what does your GE track at? I am afraid to mess with it as it seems to play all size records just fine.
