45 adapter ?
what are the odds of finding a 45 adapter for a RCA RP-205?...I have been searching...and found a few from the 60's but not willing to take a chance on them not fitting...

Does Gary have them? I assume not or you wouldn't be searching. What is so special about that adapter that it is so hard to find? I have a couple of RCA adapters that I don't know what they fit.

Re: 45 adapter ?
The V-M 45 adapters for the 950 and 1200
series should work on the RP-205.
The spindle shelf on an RP-205 is 180 degrees rotated
from a V-M 1200.
So, you would mount the V-M adapter appropriately.
I'll check that tonight, since I still have the
RCA blonde consolette here.
I've some V-M adapters I can let go, if
any of you guys want to go with a V-M
product.
Gary at The V of Music has the RCA's, for a
premium.
The 2 1950's RCA adapters I have, have a problem
with one side of the blades being stuck.
I've been hesistant to try to take one apart.
If they're not working, I guess I could try.

Re: 45 adapter ?
Gary has them ... but they are a bit pricey at 35 bucks each ... the VM adapters are 40 bucks ....I think I have a extra VM adapter for a 1200 series somewhere... I will have to try it out...If the VM works , ebay has them for 10-15 bucks

Re: 45 adapter ?
I found one that is gold with the dark red top that looks like a RCA piece but could be a VM , it just says 45 on top ... it will fit but not easily .. you got to fumble around and twist it back and forth to set down over the spindle and the 45 emblem faces to the front it will drop a 45 when it is suppose to...whether it is the correct one ?... who knows... 45's rarely get played at my house...

I have a white one with a red top that says "RCA" on it. Would it work? If you think it might, I'll get a picture of it and post here if you'd like.
