Collaro RC-456 and "Magnavox custom" changers

The RC-456 is and assumed correct. The changer is just like in William's post, except this one it's not in a console. It is missing both idler and changer wheels, stepped shaft and its AC switch. But the Shure mono cartridge is OK and from above, it looks complete but totally different from any other Collaro I have seen.

Enter another Collaro, a "Magnavox- custom", about 3 years newer(?) super dirty and missing its cartridge. This changer was included with an AMP-175 and 55-series AM-FM tuner to be restored for a two cabinet 1960 Magnavox console. I started cleaning in earnest and just as I was finishing up, noticed the motor was 230 volts 50 hz . In a panic, I began looking for an identical motor, hoping not to match with two players on my shelf that belong to other consoles. I also need a 3-pin female phono power plug with flat pins, not the "molex" using round pins thru the 60s.

Unlike later Magnavox changers, this motor DOES NOT use isolation grommets, mounting directly to the pan. The good news here is the entire casting and motor matches the RC-456, which I will further cannibalize. Fortunately, the motor is 120 volts 60 hz , so I can restore the "correct" changer for this two-cabinet model.

Do you get an error message? Another thing I've noticed lately. When you load a picture, look over to the right of that box. There is a little gas gauge that shows the image being loaded. If you hit "submit" before you get a little green check mark in a circle where the "gas gauge" was, the image won't load. This has happened to me a couple times. Try your pictures again, paying attention to that image that shows it's loaded. Let me know if you have further problems. Good luck.

The changer with the white platter mat looks like a Conquest to me. Apparently, it is stereo. Looks exactly like the one in my big Imperial and Concert Grand. F-200 would be the model. The S-600 series started in 1961. Most of the Conquest changers had EV 26 cartridges with a few Euphonics U-models thrown in.

F-200 Conquest seemed to be pretty popular for 1960, then it was the "custom" for 1961. I like the F-200s knobs especially. The Euphonics cart was like an Astatic 710. These you could not replace the stylus but with EV-26, you can.
