nice Scott 382b am/fm stereo receiver

Mint untouched original HHScott 382-b AM/FM stereo receiver, super clean, originally mounted in custom console, everything works perfectly, used daily in our office last 5 years. US made in Maynard Mass 1968, all silicon transistors. Downsizing. Includes Owners Manual and Service manual.

That is a nice solid receiver. I grew up using a Stereomaster 344 and took for granted the incredible tuner.
With just an indoor twin-lead dipole, selectivity and sensitivity are incredible.

My first few FM radios, except tuners from gutted consoles by Fisher and Motorola, were awful receivers in comparison.

Agree, Scott was outstanding when US made. Hard to understand why Japanese receivers of the late '60s & '70s bring 2 or 3 times than what US made (up to about '72 or so) Sherwoods, Scotts and Fishers are, perhaps because the Japanese are flashier, more bells an whistles? Certainly not performance or quality. Sadly the great US brands went down fast in the '70s.
I just don't need this one, the other 3 or 4 stereos suffice.
