I know who Grappelli is, of course, but what's a "Vacuum particle heater"?

Mine's pictured in my avatar. The vacuum tubes generate heat, which sends old radio scents (mouse P, spider poop and surface deposits on the tubes into the air. The scent gradually diminishes, but the heat remains.

There is nothing like the smell of burning mouse pee from an old vacuum tube device.....

Now I get it. I remember the time the mice decided that making home in the insulation of the water heater--very cozy--was just the thing.
