John Anderson passes away at 71

Post: # 30870Post electra225 »

This artist is best known for "Swingin'" a mega country hit of the 1980's. My favorite John Anderson song was "Chicken Truck" a little truck driver ditty that made no sense, but was satisfying none the less. He was inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame four days before he died.

I couldn't resist sharing "Chicken Truck" with respects to John Anderson and apologies to the rest of you...

I saw John perform live at Renfro Valley many years ago and he did a fantastic job. We've been to Renfro Valley a few times and my wife would always wait out by the performer's bus that's parked next to the building so she could see them go in the building. She said John looked at her and said, "Hello Darlin." It seems like there was another singer that used to say that too. :D I've always been a big fan of his and have at least two CDs of his songs.

Most of the good singers are gone now and there aren't very many left that I would drive two miles to see even if it was for free.
