Anybody tired of fiddly electronics and want to wrench on a car? This one has been sitting for about a year so I'll bet a fair offer would take it. Must not be a Michigan car--way too solid.

Re: project car
I looked at some pictures and it looks a lot like a 1949 but I still wouldn't bet money on it. I bet I know a guy who will know for sure though.

It does look like a 49, I guess I might be a decade off. Thanks, Danny.

Re: project car
1949 Buick Super four door sedan, model 41-D. Powered by a 248 CID straight 8 and probably a Dynaflow transmission. First year for hydraulic lifters in the 248, on Dynaflow jobs only. Standard shift models got solid lifters. One year only body, one year only instrument panel. There were no 1949 Specials using the 1949 body. Specials used the 1948 body. First year for the Dynaflow dipstick under the hood. Radiator sets too close to the fan on 248 engines to use a six-blade fan. Supers were available in sedanets and convertible. That is an unfortunate color, and I'm not sure it's factory. They made a dark metallic blue that looks amazing on that model......
I see a "Dynaflow" script on the rear quarter panel. I think 1949 was the first year for insert rod bearings in the 248 engine. The 320 got them in 1948 on Dynaflow jobs. Hydraulic lifters became standard on all engines in 1951, although I know of a 1953 263 straight 8 with standard shift that left the factory with solid lifters.....

Re: project car
Yeah, it's a Dynaflow, and the color is a repaint job. Definitely not suited for that car.
