In the '30s and '40s, Philco & Zenith made "chairside consoles" much like that. I've got a Philco model 370.

That's a nice looking set. It'd be nice in a large living room. I'd like to hear it's channel separation.

I think on that outfit you would put one cabinet on one end of the couch, the other on the other end of the couch. That would be your channel separation. It might sound really good.....
