Fastest cars of 1954

I have a 16", 33 rpm Buick demonstration record for the 1954 model year. Talks about the "heavy and complicated" DeSoto hemi, Buick's direct Chrysler product competitor. The record claimed that the '54 Century would outrun the hemi. I really doubted that. Turns out, that may be true. Not only did the Buick 322 outrun the 276 Hemi in the DeSoto, according to this video, it also outran the 331 Hemi in the Chrysler. This would then make the 1954 Buick Century the fastest production domestic car available in 1954? Okay......
