Last night I attended a sold-out concert by the Glenn Miller Orchestra. The arrangements are spot-on to his. Timing, tempo, everything was close-your-eyes and you're listening to an original recording but LIVE.

They did the most popular recordings as well as a KILLER rendition of goodmans "Sing, Sing,
Sing".

These are a "deleted" of a hard-working traveling group of passionate artists dedicated to preserving the swing and big band genre. An absolute MUST HEAR event.

Do not pass up the opportunity to hear and support them!

I am jealous ! I would love to have been there with you. I grew up listening to that era of music and it has stuck with me ever since. At what theater did it take place?

Theater at North in Scranton. It's a renovated school with apartments and Goodwill hosts fantastic concerts. Of course the suit i wore came from Goodwill too!

The Glenn Miller Orchestra travels everywhere. Surely they'll appear near you. Check out their schedule.

They are also the curators of all the original arrangements with his notations, a library of over 1500 scores...

2 obscure favorites of mine are "Elmers Tune" and "It happened in sun valley". I also wish they did his rendition of "Rhapsody in Blue". They did hit on some tunes from Orchestra Wives including "At Last" that stunned a lot of the audience who only attributed it to Etta James. This kid knew better, though....
