RCA RP-218 changer, VFT-39

What cartridge did these come with?... this uses the dual stylus where you push right for 78 or left for LP.. looks like I need to remove it and check the wiring ... the bass oscillation only happens while playing records on the right channel ... same issue I had a few years ago with the Fisher ambassador , one channel would oscillate or vibrate when the bass was turned up , turned out to be the stylus was wired out of phase , thinking this has the same problem... looks like the changer has to come out to even work on the cartridge...

The cartridge in the RP-197 I have is an Astatic. It is also mono and it is kaput. It has the flip needle like yours has. Sounds like either your cartridge is wired out of phase or your speakers are. Let us know what you find and good luck.....
