I think this is overpriced considering the condition but then again I think almost everything is overpriced.

Interesting, and it definitely needs lots of love. The cabinet condition looks like my Motorola SK52 in the Drexel cabinet which is not in good shape either. As far as money, I am with you Danny, I think everything is too expensive. I see off to the left this person has some component gear sitting on a shelf. I wish them luck with the sale, and I hope it goes to a good home.

The seller has the advantage of a large metro market. "This was Magnavox’s magnum opus and weights well over 100 pounds. Cash and carry please." I thought these were closer to 300#'s. A basement removal and condition may eventually put a damper on the sellers expectations. Interesting that this one has been in project status storage for 15 years. I don't feel so bad now.

You are correct, Mark. 300 pounds is a much closer weight and to try and move that out of a basement, unless it is a walkout, will take young strong men. I had a vintage Capehart given to me a few years ago, the people just wanted it out of the house and basement. I took a buddy along thinking we could pick it up, carry it up the stairs and be gone. NOPE!!! It had to weigh well at least 250 pounds so we took all of the guts out before we could pick up the cabinet to carry it up the stairs. They just do not make things like what our hobby is all about anymore and our backs can attest to that. ;) By the way, the Capehart is now sitting in my basement waiting restoration and I did not put the guts back in the cabinet. :)

I helped Fred unload my CG from his truck. I lifted my end okay, but I didn't hold it up long. They are heavy, I can tell you that. Magnavox put them on wheels for a reason.....

That unit is restorable if all the guts are there. IF it were mine, the cabinet would go to Fred Taylor. The price they are asking is unreasonable for the condition of the cabinet and the unknown working of the electronics. It will cost $2000 to have the cabinet redone. I hope it gets a good home.
Life can be tough. It can be even tougher if you're stupid.....

I am glad someone got it, I just hope they do not rob all the guts and then toss it.
