Here's a tip if you encounter a speed control that remains stuck
after cleaning and lubrication.
Last night I was finishing up this changer to replace a badly defective one for
a customer.
Upon re-assembly, I noticed the speed adjust control was really
stuck.
This came after thorough cleaning and lube of the speed adjust
assembly.
Today I removed all the linkages so that I could remove the assembly for inspection.
It's best to remove the motor for better access.
I noticed that the "idler elevating spindle" was rubbing against
its pass through hole in the "idler elevator bracket".
Upon further inspection, I saw the bracket "L" was bent away
from its 90 degree proper orientation to the "idler elevating spindle".
I used a large set of pliers and gently bent the bracket a bit.
The spindle now moves freely through the bracket hole.
Re-assembled and the speed control now works OK.
