I posted a picture of the little GE receiver I've pressed into service on the thread before this, Rains/Pours. It's playing through some Polk RM2300 speakers that I found in the alley, with their stands. They are surround speakers, intended to be used with a subwoofer. They're tiny and, shall we say, not bass-heavy. But they make the GE receiver actually sound respectable.
There's a fad among some for mini-monitor speakers for their precision and accuracy and imaging. Ive always been a full-range speaker guy because I like good but accurate bass. I.m almost converted. These little Polks really do present a good image. When there's some bass to hear, I can sit here at the computer desk with the Lr speakers turned up a bit to supply that.
