Two old radios

Can anyone identify these radios. If I am reading the dial correctly, I think it says Spartan. Whatever the second one is, it sure has a big speaker. The first maybe an RCA?

Thanks Doc., I thought I was reading the Sparton name correctly on the one with the big speaker. The other I was not sure of. Was the Sparton a TOTL model to have that big speaker?

12 tube console with integrated automatic frequency control, tuning eye and "scalloped" ends on the cabinet.

Is the Sparton a motor-drive tuning device? Most of the models with the 6H6 and AFC were motor-tuned units that needed the AFC to pull them right onto frequency when the motor drive landed close.

Chris,

No motor. Sparton used the sales term of "Selectronne" Tuning. The AFC was used to ensure the mechanically activated pushbutton presets were *right* on frequency when selected apparently.

The unit in the left pic has the type of stamped patinated brass or copper bezel RCA used in many of their radios of the late '30s through the early '40s.
