Interesting cabinet and a nice-looking unit. I wish they would have shared some photos with the back off.

Can anybody read the little knob to the right of the tuning dial? Balance?

It looks like all of the controls, except for the tuning controls have two functions. The "REV" knob looks like it is a continuous control so I think I would go with reverb. Again, I wish there were photos with the back off.

Re: Pricey But Very Nice Packard Bell
Those are classics of their kind, with Bell & Howell aiming for the high-end market. Note the Garrard changer and the magnetic cartridge, both signs of better quality. As I recall, the electronics matched. The price is a bit stratospheric, but it does include shipping anywhere in the lower 48.

I'd love to be in a room with one of these, a CG. RCA SHF1 and a President to compare all the totl units...

Re: Pricey But Very Nice Packard Bell
This Bell and Howell in Downstate IL for 1/4 of the Ebay one seems like a bargain. Perhaps photos of the R2R and changer might help. I'll bet that heavy Sony TV is leaving a nice impression on the top of that console.

It kind of looks like a Fisher President. I'm guessing the controls in the center is an earlier version of an equalizer.

It's an audio scope. If I were advertising this for sale, I'd be sure to include photos of it working.

Just what does an audio scope do? Is it like a built-in oscilloscope?

Re: Pricey But Very Nice Packard Bell
It was probably for FM tuning and antenna placement (reduction of multipath).
