Re: WLW The Nation's Station
Thanks, Rex. I see the WLW station even had a Theater Pipe Organ in one of its broadcast studios which was quite common back in the day. I had no idea WLW was "THE" station back then, the link was a great history lesson. And let's not forget the Crosley's WLW radio.

Another fun informative video from history.
I always love the standardized background music
used in many marketing films of the day.
I think Jam Handy Films was a big producer.

I can't imagine having that in my house, but then again, I could not have afforded it new let alone now. Actually, I would rather have the money the go for now.

Re: WLW The Nation's Station
WLW was 500,000 watts? Back before cellphones were clogging up the airwaves, you could get WWL or WLW almost anyplace in the lower 50 states, even the Northeast. But 500,000 watts? Their power bill must have been astromical, even back in the day....
I haven't failed. I've just found 10,000 ways that won't work.....Thomas Alva Edison

And then there was the 600 plus acres of antenna they talked about with a million plus watts of power spreading freedom to the war-torn counties around the world. At least I think I understood that when I was watching the link???
