What a GORGEOUS automobile. I loved this post Earl GM (bill Mitchell era?) Series of cars.
These buicks were pure class and utterly dignified. Where cadillac was trying to kill off the fin, buick had sleek cars without ostentation. Every bit capable of competing with lincoln and even cadillac that, although they had killer engines, transmissions and climate control in a redesigned "old body", this buick would have been in fashion in 1965 and beyond...
A 64 cadillac really went out of style a year later... but you'd get years of pride out of this gorgeous car...
Personally, I drool over 64 Imperials. Love to have a 65 with the glass covered headlights.
As elegant as they were, I'd never want a lincoln... 2bbl carbs and vacuum wipers? Seriously?

Re: 1964 buick Electra review
I drove a '65 once, and just a short distance, but have remembered it ever since. It was far more solid and tight than what I had experienced in GM luxo-barges, which always seemed a bit floppy and way too cushy. It was a pretty car, dark green with (I think) a black vinyl top and a dark green leather interior. My parents' '66 Plymouth Fury wagon was similar--a big car that did not feel floaty or mushy like the other big cars. I was always tempted to drive the Plymouth too fast because its handling was so reassuring. It had a sport suspension with front discs. The wheel covers boasted, "Disc Brakes." Chrysler had a knack for making big cars feel much more agile.

Re: 1964 buick Electra review
That is a 1964 version of my '63, an Electra Custom hardtop. The Electra Custom was like the Limited that started in 1967. That '64 had a seldom-seen vinyl top. They were a dynamite appearance on these cars, but nobody ordered a vinyl top to amount to anything until 1965. '64 was the first year for the famous (infamous?) fender skirts on Electras. Other than the new Super Turbine transmission and a few extremely minor trim changes, they were identical to the 1963's. 1962, 1963 and 1964 were hot sellers and are popular with the Buick guys to this day.
I like the Imperials of that period. The 413 was a potent power plant.

I haven't failed. I've just found 10,000 ways that won't work.....Thomas Alva Edison
