Line of cars

Post: # 17767Post TC Chris »

Last weekend, after I had put the Chevy in storage, I passed a mid-late '60s Mopar midsize in the other lane, then a late '70s Lincoln, then a recent Maserati (!!!) and finally a recent e-Mustang. Pretty remarkable line-up, especially in a GM town.

Up here where I live, we have two seasons: Mustang and Subaru. Mustang is just ending and Subaru is beginning.

In every line of cars out here usually includes at least one Tesla. E-Mustangs are not plentiful. Jacked up diesel trucks with training wheels are also in each line of cars out here. The rocker panels on those trucks are higher than the doors on my Mini...... ;) :o

For those not familiar with training wheels on trucks, those are reversed rims that stick totally out from under the fenders. Deputy Frank tickets such vehicles when he sees one, if they don't have mud flaps, which most don't, but he hasn't seen ALL of them yet. Looks to me like those wheels would be murder on wheel bearings. What they are good for is picking up rocks then tossing them thru car windshields. Training wheels started out on lowriders. The jacked-up truck crowd discovered them. They are illegal in many states.

Another idiot trick that is popular here is to drive a Jeep with no fenders and no doors. How that is safe, let alone legal, is beyond me. A T-bone collision riding in a rig like that might be life-threatening.
I haven't failed. I've just found 10,000 ways that won't work.....Thomas Alva Edison

We see more Teslas now. My sister reports that in California they make Chevys and Fords look rare. Strangely enough, seeing Maseratis is no longer so unusual. And agreed about the bearing and suspension stresses with those mis-positioned wheels. I've always wondered what happens after the miles add up.
