Ed Ames dies at 95

He played on "Daniel Boone" and was a member of the singing Ames Brothers, plus had a career as a solo artist. I have several of his records. He had a good voice. Rest in peace....

My mom and dad bought our first console around 1974. It was a Philco with AM/FM and phono. For some reason, we never used the radio. It was typical early 70s something with plastiwood trim on the speakers.

The first album we had was Ed's Christmas album... its the first one I play every season,usually only once because it brings back a lot of memories.

The Ames Brothers recorded "Rag Mop" in 1950. Although not a country number by definition, it had enough of a country flair my dad played it at his barn dances. I still have this song on a well-worn 78 and probably on tape or CD that I got off the internet.

My cup runneth over, was a memorable song in the 60s and on muzak, I recall hearing it alot as a kid.
