I'm a relative amateur when it comes to drinking so I've never quite understood the pros. When I need some alcohol I head for the kitchen where it's stashed. So I'm puzzled about ruining a useful device to make a box for bottles.

I have been the beneficiary of such activity. Friends have saved the innards from a couple 1920s TRF sets for me (Sparton, Eveready) and an Edison disc player. But all of them would be cooler with their original containers.

Someone did a great job of making a liquor cabinet, but like Chris, why ruin a beautiful Maple Early American RCA console stereo. By the looks of the cabinet, it was one of RCA's higher end models.

Why not buy a piece made for this purpose?... it can't be much cheaper than converting a perfectly good stereo cabinet?
