That is a nice one, right in my backyard! Out of my price range, though. Thanks for sharing, Hydro... :D

The ad says it has been gone thru electronically. If they paid to have it done, who knows how much money they have into it. They won't recoup their money. Collectors want to do their own work, the general public could care less. If they keep the price firm, they might not sell it. California is next door, so there is that..... ;)

Something doesn't add up.

This is a tube unit right???!!

Read (or re-read the description)....

"2 replacement audio output transistors"

Huh?

Either there is some misunderstanding or someone is trying to pull a fast one....(or the restorer pulled a fast one on his customer)....

Wonder which output transformers they replaced and why. Bi amps have two sets. Yes, Doc, it has tubes. The 81 series Amp.

Greg,

That's just it....the ad states output TRANSISTORS replaced, not TRANSFORMERS. :D Something's a-miss.

Part of what's amiss is my reading ability. I could have sworn it said "transformers". Transistors, huh? Okay, I'll ask the same question. Which transistors? That might be kinda tough since it doesn't have transistors. Who knows? Either the person who did the work gave the owner "the business", or the owner doesn't know the difference between tubes and transistors. If I was a buyer, I would make my offer based on the great possibility that it needs gone thru again. Somewhere around $200 is where I'd start.
