FBM Tube? console w/R2R $50 Cincinnati area
Too far away for me! Pretty sure Danny is SE of me but not sure how close to this unit. Blew up picture and looks to have CD markings on tuner dial. No picture of R2R and can barely see the front of changer.

I assume this is a magnavox by the looks of the dial ... one this age with the R2R would be right up my alley ... too bad is 300 miles away

It's not a Magnavox. Pilot, Curtis Mathes, Fisher, maybe? Whatever it is would be worth $50.

SWEET FATHER CHRISTMAS!!! 50 BUCKS????
Re: FBM Tube? console w/R2R $50 Cincinnati area
I don't believe it's a Fisher...
But this is a good example of why it's good to be patient and not overpay, I see deals like this regularly... the Zenith I picked up 3-4 months ago with a 7B31 pp amp (and 4 Amperex EL84s) from a lady moving out of state was free. I barely missed a nice working '60? Maggie Imperial last year in Syracuse for $35. It's not all that unusual really.

That sure looks like a Curtis Mathis Royal Dane. It's CM's cabinet style and their tuner for sure. For $50.00 I'd be all over it, I do not know where I would put it, but I would be all over it.

Ar least that one separated the changer from the speakers to reduce acoustic feedback. I've never figured out why so many changers are mounted right over speakers--basically, in the same space. OK, they could save a few pennies....

You guys are amazing! I would not have considered CM. Thanks for adding to the knowledge here. Now to retain some of that knowledge should one appear locally.

must have been a time before CM went to cheap flake board cabinets of the 70's... everyone I ever came across the cabinet was junk just from moisture in the air causing them to swell

The original CM cabinets were always MCM walnut and high quality. At least the ones I have seen in person or for sale online. I love that shade of walnut, it's one of my favorite wood colors.
