A Galaxie with a 390 and a 3-speed seems like an odd combination.
It is very odd and that is one of the things I like about it.

Re: 30 plus years in the barn!
Greg is correct about the engine badges. No badge for 289, 390/352 badges were the same shape but different color. This is a super straight and super solid car, original car down to engine. trans, and factor color. It should be an easy restoration. I also owned 2 1965 Galaxie 500 XL's but always lik...

I found you can now purchase the GM HEI system in an after market distributor of almost any make of engine. I purchased one for a Ford 302 and even found they had one for the old 292 Y-block.

Re: Aftermarket retrofit fuel injection for old cars
I have looked at them for my old Fords and found the Holly sniper to be expensive! For some reason the Ford Autolite 2100 2bbl carburetor is being reproduced and working well so for now I'm sticking with that.

When I have a day like that, I put down all the tools and go fishing which for me is nothing more than drowning worms!

Congratulation Greg! I'm sorry I wasn't available in the beginning to help you and Rex, we did so much together in the past. I hope to make it up by supporting you more in the future.

Re: The price of gas went down...
I'm sure we will not see any reduction in gas prices until after Memorial Day. People made travel plans before the gas prices started to go up. Nobody is going to cancel holiday travel plans because of the price of gas and they know it!

My back trouble gradually diminished after the nerve injections. The copays for them among the other medical copays with the medicare coverage I had were extortionate. My sister couldn't believe them. I had to cancel my next round of nerve injections. I also had to cancel a heart stress test becaus...

Re: Finally Retired
On the subject of health lamentations, I had x-rays taken a week ago (Th., 4/2). The doctor still doesn't have them so cannot make treatment decisions. I called the practice again today and was told the hospital does not have enough radiologists. Meanwhile, I cannot walk standing up--have to bend o...

Re: The price of gas went down...
Last week I went to a very small town in Virginia called Altavista. I found gas there for 3.59 while most other stations were at $4.39. It was an unmanned station but everything was working as it should.

Yes, I always fell guilty closing shop after so many people spent huge sums of money on their phones systems.
