Likely some custom thing.

Re: Tick Diseases
We never had ticks when I was a kid. My mom's family has a farm and we'd take in the hay like this week and never feared ticks. I don't even remember the farm dogs having them. Now they're everywhere. First time I found one was maybe 4 years ago after a walk in the woods behind the house. We don't h...
Re: heat
It's horribly hellish in the northeast. Hit 98 here yesterday. I have 2 15k btu window also. If I didn't turn them on at 5 AM, I never could have held the first floor at 75 degrees. By 7 PM when everything was totally baked it crept up to 77 inside. Still over 20 degrees cooler than outside.

Those who don't learn from history...
Billy Durant was one of the worst businessmen of history . He had a terrific idea but almost drove it into the ground in a decade. Had others not taken over, we'd still be driving Packards...

Climate control sensor. It's a resistor that feeds a temperature signal to adjust the air conditioning.

Likewise... I remember when it first came out. People posing every bowel movement or sneeze and getting sympathy or medical diagnoses from here to timbuktu... "Don't you know about so-and-so? It's all over Facebook." I don't care. I don't need to know... here's my half-eaten tuna sandwich....

Tell me about it... try fixing an old car... my mechanic is lending me a slide hammer to get the rear axle shaft out of the 62 because he won't do it. Then I have to find a machine shop to replace the bearing that I had to buy... Nobody wants to do anything anymore. I also have to replace the front ...

Re: Early automotive air conditioning systems
GM was wimpy where it came to the gadgets we take for granted. Chrysler was first for hydraulic brakes. Olds with hydramatic. Packard with power windows and air. Chrysler with power locks and cruise... exclusive and way ahead of its time auto dim mirrors. Swivel seats were replaced in the Eldorado B...

Re: Early automotive air conditioning systems
2 years ago, there was a packard at hershey with ac. Old cadillac friend, Doug Houston who was also an audiophile, had a 41 cadillac with air. He wrote extensive documents on it. One of the last pre-war cars to have it was the Dutchess: https://rmsothebys.com/auctions/ny13/lots/r120-1941-cadillac-cu...

Hayna saying (NEPA'S unofficial slanguage) "IT ain't da heat, it's da umidity" Our humidity is oppressive sometimes. 75 with 85% is yuck... try 85 or 90 with 90%... taxes any system. The 91 cadillac is anemic in the ac department. Sometimes that compressor will cycle off 2 or 3 seconds and...

Re: Spring & Mustangs
Agree that excessive heat is not good for old iron. Have to remember these were new once upon a time, when gas was different. Even then, vapor lock was a concern. Suffered long enough with a non-air car. I want it working even if it can't be on constantly. The air in the 62 is amazing... it was so g...

Mine won't be out for awhile. Weather is lousy and I have to replace front wheel cylinders, a rear axle bearing (I think) and rebuild a valve in the AC. Can't not have working air!

Re: Brakes!!!
Replace the master cylinder and bleed the entire system. If the MASTER doesn't fully release then the wheel cylinders will be slow to release or be partially on.
Almost burned up that 57 because the entire system had rust.

Re: Fisher's Sony r2r
Dunno. Haven't tried it yet but there's another one on channel 1 so what would cause one to fail yet the other always worked? A resistor? A cap?
