Re: 30 plus years in the barn!

That Galaxie looks mighty nice. I have that wistful vision that can see beneath the accumulated barn byproducts. Sling has a 24/7 FBI channel. It's nice to see these cars as they were in the ultimate product placement TV program.

Re: 25 forgotten radio stations....

I wondered why it was so hard to get the stations I grew up with after getting back from my tour in Germany in the spring of '81.

Re: project car

My grandparents had one of those in a dark, between a robins egg and Navy blue. It had a yellow clear windshield visor and a gray interior and an armrest apiece for me and my cousin. :D

Re: Sears Silvertone table radio, model 5021

I've worked on a lot of discrete pc boards over the years and I found that if i would remove the coating from about 1/4 inch of the trace from the connection and drew a solder gusset from the trace to the connection, a good wet gusset, that would bridge many a problem fracture. In most cases the boa...

Re: Sears Silvertone table radio, model 5021

When you resoldered the connections on the board, did you resolder only the actual joint where the component leads passed through the board?

Re: Plenty To Do In Retirement

The doctor said it should be a temporary condition. They will reexamine it when I return for my eye exam. she said to come back in should it get any worse. I kno I am sure giving this insurance a run for it's (and my) money. $10 copay for the visit. Now I go in for my next nerve ablation tomorrow. T...

Re: Plenty To Do In Retirement

The middle of last week, I began to notice what looked like my hair falling down over my right eye. Well, I found that it isn't my hair. There are long hairlike shapes running vertically down the right third of my right eye, with small floaters that look like wadded up hairs that move about after my...

That's a nice looking set. It'd be nice in a large living room. I'd like to hear it's channel separation.

Re: Plenty To Do In Retirement

They're doing a full inspection of my inner ears and nasal/sinus system. I hope they find something to correct. I dropped like a sack of potatoes.

You'll Never Walk Alone

Hearing the organ pieces today made me think of how well this piece sounds on the organ. I remember when I was 6 my mother sang this song at a recital at the memorial colosseum in Marion Indiana. I wish to God I had a recording of it, I think of her whenever I hear it. I have to leave the room. http...

Re: Plenty To Do In Retirement

After 2 nearly pain free days, today I'm getting a bit stiff and painful in my affected area. Tried a Diclofenac. It cut the pain by 10-15 percent and lasted an hour.

Re: Plenty To Do In Retirement

I'll always advise folks to exhaust all other options before choosing surgery. My sister has had 50 years worth of surgeries on her back in the hope of finally achieving freedom from pain. Each surgery has changed the pain, nothing more. I guess it could have been worse without all the fusings and o...

Re: Plenty To Do In Retirement

It's good to see you getting back to health. That diclofenac can be a real help. Unfortunately It didn't work for my trouble this time around. The diclofenac tablets take the edge off, though.
